Steven McCleaf brings more than 30 years of experience in real estate development, investment, and financial management to his role as Treasurer of the National Autism Safety Council. As Principal and Founder of Langley Realty Partners and Managing Partner of Warfield Companies, he has worked with complex mixed-use and affordable housing projects primarily in the Washington-Baltimore region, overseeing investment underwriting, capital markets, and financial operations throughout his career. He holds an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business and a BBA in Finance from the College of William & Mary.
Steven's commitment to NASC is deeply personal. As the parent of a young adult on the autism spectrum with other co-existing diagnoses, he has spent years navigating the systems that families encounter every day — from law enforcement interactions and the criminal justice system, to school IEPs and special education advocacy, insurance denials, and the often-exhausting process of engaging local, state, and federal agencies on behalf of a love one who deserves to be understood and protected. That lived experience drives everything he does here.
His work as a developer and affordable housing advocate has required sustained engagement with government agencies at the municipal, county, and state level — skills that translate directly to NASC's growing government affairs and policy advocacy efforts. Steven believes that systemic change — in public safety, education, and healthcare — is essential to protecting the autism community, and he is committed to lending his voice and experience to that mission.
